Diy graduation cap

My sister is graduating next weekend and wanted to make sure we could see her from the stadium seating and stand out from the crowd. What a cute idea... decorate the top of your graduation cap!
She cut chevron green fabic to size and used scrapbook stickers to spell "Jeremiah 29:11" (what a wonderful bible vedse and so fitting for this life event) and then finally added a cute black bow to finish it off. She glued everything down with hot glue.
Cant wait to watch her walk across the stage next week! :)

DIY Bride Shorts

Hi!! Today I'm sharing the Bride shorts that I made for my wedding day so I could wear them while I was getting ready! This was probably one of the quickest and easiest crafts that I did for the wedding!

Supplies Needed:
Soffee Shorts
White Iron-on Letters
Iron
Scissors
Hot fix crystals
Portable Hot fix tool

All that I had to do was cut out the letters that I wanted and then place them centered on the back-side of the soffee shorts and iron them on!

Here they are ironed-on! I then wanted to add a little bling and used the hot fix tool I got from Michaels.
There are several different kinds of tools available, I got the one that came with free hot fix crystals.

Here you can see my progression, just follow the directions on the hot fix tool's package to ensure you are setting it enough. Also be sure to stay steady, if you slide off of the tool it will leave a little circular burn mark on your item!

Ta-da!! Looks professional right? And I paid less than $10!

Happy Crafting!!

Thrifty find... love birds

Here is a quick home decoration idea. Find 2 birds and hang them on a wall in your home to symbolize "love birds."

I find birdies at thrift stores all the time... they are so charming and have lots of character. Even if they arent cosmetically perfect... that makes them look even better.  :)

The color in the master bathroom is called "ethereal mood" by Sherwin Williams. It looks great with white linens.

DIY Thank You Signs

Hello!! Today I'm sharing the thank you signs that I made for my wedding thank you cards! I saw several different ways to do this on Pinterest and intended on using rectangle shaped plaque until I found these scalloped ones at Michaels!

Supplies Needed:
-Wood Plaques
-White Paint
-Blue Acrylic Paint
-Paint Brushes
-Newspaper
-Starfish
-Cricut Storybook Cartridge
-Hot Glue Gun
I started by painting the wooden plaques white on both sides with some paint that I had left over from repainting a desk.

Then I used my Cricut to cut out the words exactly as I wanted them and placed them where I wanted with starfish.

Then I used a pencil to trace the letters onto the plaque and again put the starfish down just to see how it was coming along.

Then I painted within each outline with a small paintbrush and my new favorite blue color.

After I finished painting I got the idea to outline the words with a sharpie and I love how much better it turned out. I made sure not to glue the starfish on until we got to Jamaica so that they wouldn't break en route in my luggage. I packed a hot glue gun to attach all of the fragile things after arrival.
Here it is!! My photo for my thank you cards!! I admit I wasn't sure how they would like while we were taking the pictures but I absolutely love how these came out!

Hope you enjoy this DIY and can use it too!!

DIY sign for master bedroom

Another quick post tonight. :)

I stained an old piece of wood then used white acrylic paint to free hand the saying "happy together."

It is above our door, I love it! The handwriting and paint is not perfect but I think it kinda adds personality.

Im going to make another sign soon that says, "relax... you're home now"

Happy Sunday!

P.S. - We just got done painting the house. This color is Sherwin Williams "ethereal mood"

Stud earring storage idea

Quick Sunday tip!

Having trouble storing your stud earrings? Use an ice cube tray for earrings, earring backs and rings. So much easier than putting them on those wire mesh boards or throwing them in a box and having to dig to find a matching set. :)

Bathroom Jars Tip

Quick bathroom tip.

If you have those clear glass jars on your counter fill one with your nailpolishes. :)

Thank you pinterest!

I'm thinking about filling my short jar with all my Emi-Jay hair ties.

Have a great night,
Cassie
